For Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Tribute to the Animal Kingdom, Studio Marianne Guély was invited to bring the art of paper sculpture into the extraordinary world of haute horlogerie.
The result is Papercroc. A white crocodile, hidden within snow-covered vegetation, appears to have been sculpted from ice.
But look closer. It is entirely made from white cotton paper, delicately cut, embossed and assembled by hand. At just 3 mm high, layer upon layer of paper creates subtle reliefs and depth, transforming an unexpected material into a miniature work of art. A dream Marianne Guély had nurtured for years — and one that finally found its way onto a Vacheron Constantin watch dial.
Paper meets time.
Craft meets precision.
A dream becomes reality.
